Writing prompt: “I saw…in the middle of the fire, something like gleaming amber.
And in the middle of it was something like four living creatures. …
In the middle of the living creatures there was something like torches,
moving to and fro. As I looked beside the living creatures, I saw…something
like a wheel within a wheel. Over the heads of the living creatures there was
something like a dome, shining like crystal … and above the dome
there was something like a throne.” (Ezekiel 1:4-26, NRSV)

Something like
the dappled shading of morning sunshine;
the warm caress of sun on my face;
a moment of releasing the load of worries;
the trusting touch and hold of your hand;
the unexpected purple gentian blooming through gravel parking;
birds’ song punctuating the rich silence after singing together.
Something like ordinary times of heart’s lifting and soul singing.
Something like the companionship of the other that is deeply familiar.
Glimpses of the unknown God.
