From Exodus 8:7 (NRSV): “For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land with flowing streams, with springs and underground waters welling up in valleys and hills.”

Down the hillside meanders the shining, trickling stream of hope. Sunlight highlights the green-hued, moss-covered stepping stones. Along the banks, in the tall, calm, ancient trees, leaf buds of possibility begin to burst open. The sound of sky lark’s song, too high to see, pierces the cloud of despondency. Here is a place to re-collect myself. Grounded God, lift my eyes to recognise the reality of the landscape of hope, and the features of love. Walk me into being along the precious paths less travelled.
