Prompted by: “We urge you, beloved: encourage the faint hearted,
help the weak, be patient with all of them.
See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always
seek to do good to one another and to all. Rejoice always,
pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:14-18, adapted from the NRSV)

A man hangs his head in court. Warring lands and people continue to take sides, draw hard lines of loyalty and power. Hunger stalks some and overeating others. Where is the deep source of hope and rejoicing? Open our eyes, gentle one, to see and give thanks for those who challenge the power of evil with the grace and beauty of dance, song, story. Help us to dwell and flourish in the place and the time of love that forms us into your beloved children.
